Individual Counseling

Do you feel confused about important relationships or decisions in your life?

Are you noticing the same kinds of patterns and reactions in yourself and others despite attempts to make changes?

Does it feel like your choices are limited and there are few people or resources you can trust to help figure things out?

Are you overwhelmed by feelings of hurt, pain or fear, or are you chronically angry or resentful?

Individual counseling provides a safe place to understand, heal and make changes to become healthier and more satisfied in your life.  Through expert care and effective techniques I can help you get the most out of counseling.

As a licensed psychologist, my fundamental goal for working together is helping clients heal, enhance wellness and build skills for coping with life's challenges. Therapy can help you identify and overcome obstacles to reaching your goals.

If you are considering counseling, I encourage you to call and speak with me directly.  Through a short phone call, we can address any questions and determine whether working together is a good fit for your particular needs.

In therapy you can learn to recognize patterns that are healthy and those that are not successful in your life.  By constructing new paths and avoiding obstacles, you can seek a happier and healthier life.

I’m not sure if I should start counseling—It seems expensive and how can I be sure it is worth it?

There are several important things to consider in the decision to get professional help.  Financial resources are certainly one of those factors.  An important factor that people may neglect to consider is what the consequences are of not seeking the right kind of help.  There are emotional, relationship and often physical and financial consequences of not taking care of yourself. I strive to help clients understand exactly what goals to set for therapy, how “much” therapy is right for them, and how to get the most out of the counseling process, which often also includes resources available outside of the therapy session. And if you aren’t getting what you expect from counseling, it is important that I address this with you.
